2 $3,000,000 Cash Spectacular NH $30 -13.6%

Best Combo Strategies by Price Tier

Our alternative strategy analysis found that splitting your budget across cheaper tickets often delivers higher expected value. Here are April’s best combos at each price point:

Instead of 1× Buy This Combo State Avg EV Improvement
$10 ticket 2× Rocky Mountain Cube Bingo ($5) CO +263.9%
$20 ticket 2× $50, $100 & $500 BLOWOUT ($10) CO +356.8%
$25 ticket 1× 100X THE CASH ($20) + 1× ATLANTA FALCONS ($5) GA +103.3%
$30 ticket 3× $75,000 JUMBO CASH ($10) WV +486.0%
$50 ticket 5× $50, $100 or $500 ($10) PA +318.6%
$100 ticket 2× Casino Millions ($50) TX +0.6%

April’s Best Strategy: In Colorado, buying 2× $50, $100 & $500 BLOWOUT tickets ($10 each = $20 total) delivered +356.8% more expected value than the average single $20 ticket. That’s the power of finding standout games at lower price points. Learn more about combo strategies →

Note: The $100 tier shows only +0.6% improvement because $50 games (the next tier down) were already well-priced in Texas. The combo strategy works best when there’s a significant value gap between price tiers.

Methodology & Disclaimer

How We Calculate These Numbers

All metrics in this report are derived from official state lottery remaining prize data, scraped daily from 43 state lottery websites. Our key formulas:

  • Expected Value (EV): Sum of (prize_amount × remaining_prizes ÷ estimated_tickets_remaining) across all tiers
  • ROI: (EV ÷ ticket_price − 1) × 100%
  • Daily Value Claimed: Sum of prize decreases × prize amounts between consecutive daily snapshots

For complete technical details, see our Methodology page and The Math of Scratchers guide.

Data Period & Limitations

  • All data reflects the period April 1–30, 2026
  • ROI and EV values are point-in-time snapshots — they change daily as prizes are claimed
  • Prize payout figures are based on prize claims (not ticket sales, which lotteries don’t publish)
  • Some states update their data less frequently, which can cause spikes in our daily calculations
