Jonathan Craver of Stoneville, North Carolina, turned an ordinary Tuesday Walmart run into a life-changing $5 million win on the 200X The Cash scratch-off game.

The Win That Started It All
Craver’s win marked the first $5 million top prize claimed in the 200X The Cash game since its launch in November 2025. The $20–$30 scratch-off features multiple life-changing top prizes and several $100,000 prizes as well.
After claiming his prize at North Carolina Lottery headquarters, Craver had two options:
- A 20-year annuity paying $250,000 per year, or
- A one-time lump-sum payment of $3,000,000
He chose the lump sum. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home approximately $2,160,000.
Current Game Status: 3 Top Prizes Still Out There
As of July 6, 2026, data from Scratchers Paradise shows that 3 of the original $5 million top prizes remain unclaimed in the active 200X The Cash game(s) in North Carolina. Additional $100,000 prizes are also still available.
Current stats for 200X The Cash (via ScratchersParadise.com/north-carolina/):
- Overall odds of winning any prize: approximately 1 in 2.93 to 1 in 3.01 (depending on the specific game number/print run)
- Expected Value (EV): roughly $24.28 – $24.57 per ticket
- Multiple top prizes still in play across active versions of the game
Because the game is still active with top prizes remaining, the expected value has only decreased modestly from its starting point. Players who enjoy high-volatility $20–$30 tickets can still find meaningful upside here compared to many other games in the state.

What This Win Means for Players Right Now
Big wins like Craver’s are exciting, but they also change the math for everyone else playing the same game.
With three $5 million prizes still on the board, the game retains strong long-shot appeal. However, the overall return has ticked down slightly. This is exactly why checking live remaining prize data before buying is so valuable — the difference between a game with 3 top prizes left versus one with zero is massive.
Pro tip: Use the Scratchers Paradise rankings to compare 200X The Cash against other high-EV games in North Carolina right now. Some $10 and $20 games currently offer better overall value depending on how many big prizes are left.
